EAU22 Postponed: New dates soon

We regret to inform you that we have been forced to postpone the 37th Annual EAU Congress in Amsterdam to late spring or early summer. The reason for this unfortunate decision is that the Dutch government’s rules and regulations currently do not permit the organisation of a meeting of our size.

Although the Netherlands is emerging from lockdown step by step, we have insufficient proof that our congress could go ahead in March as planned. As we do not want to burden all our stakeholders with a last-minute cancellation, we have decided to postpone to a time that we feel gives us the best chance to host a congress according to our high standards with optimal networking opportunities.

Of course, we would have liked to immediately announce the new dates in this statement. However, considering the many factors that impact this decision, we need the coming weeks to finalise arrangements and we hope to announce new dates by mid-February. One thing is certain, the format of the congress will remain as previously communicated. You can count on a four-day congress with online elements, a full-size exhibition, a packed scientific programme and hopefully many delegates from around the world.

Existing registrations
If you have already registered, your registration will automatically be transferred to the new date. The online registration system remains open for new registrations. The early fee will be extended and will be updated as soon as we know the exact dates. The registration fee deadlines will then be adjusted in line with the new timelines. If you are unable to attend EAU22 on the new dates, you can change your registration for physical attendance into an online registration. The price difference will be reimbursed minus an administrative fee. Cancellation options will also be extended to reflect the new dates, once announced.

This is clearly not how we had hoped to start a new year, almost two years after we first had to convert our annual congress in Amsterdam to a virtual setting. But as always, the safety of our members, your patients and all our partners comes first. After very uncertain times all signs look positive for hosting a meeting of our usual size in the late spring or early summer. As soon as the new dates are confirmed we will update you via e-mail, social media and the EAU22 congress website.

Once again we would like to thank you for your understanding and patience. We sincerely hope that this postponement will allow many of you to join us this spring or summer and we look forward to seeing you in Amsterdam.
