Exploring new techniques and technologies in urinary stone management

We are just over two months away from the biggest urology event held in Europe every year! In the run-up to EAU24 in Paris, we will be highlighting the hottest topics in urology by giving you a preview of relevant sessions in the EAU24 Scientific Programme.

In this article, we are looking at stones-related sessions and courses. The management of urinary calculi has always been a driving force in the development of new minimally-invasive techniques and technologies in urology. Now we are also talking about suction devices for ureteroscopy and robotic applications. Think about shock wave lithotripsy, endoscopic procedures, laser technology and high-definition imaging equipment.

The “stones” Plenary Session at EAU24 will cover the whole spectrum of urolithiasis, from diagnosis and metabolic evaluation to endoscopic surgery. What we have planned is a special focus on increasing the efficacy and safety of such approaches; radiation, intrarenal pressure, temperature, and not to mention radiation exposure. World-renowned experts will discuss challenging cases on both intervention and prevention. If you are into stones (which most urologists are) you won’t want to miss it.
