FAQ About EAU20 Postponement

The outbreak of COVID-19 virus forms a severe health risk for the more than 10,000 international healthcare professionals that would have attended our meeting, especially since the outbreak is expected to remain a pandemic prior, during and after the congress dates.

As a result of the outbreak of COVID-19 virus, the Dutch government has banned all meetings with an attendance of more than 100 persons in The Netherlands. Therefore, we are obliged to postpone the EAU20. As this situation is a Force Majeure situation as defined in the articles 8.1 and 8.2 of the terms and conditions for EAU20 registrations, we cannot accept any liability towards the registrants.

All registrations will remain valid for the new dates. For this reason, registrants are not entitled to a refund of the registration fee in case they are unable to attend the congress in July. However, we will provide you with a free access code for the EAU20 Resource Centre where you can review all scientific content and the webcasts of all sessions within 24 hours.

Registrations

I’m unable to attend in July. Will I receive a refund?

Unfortunately, we cannot offer you a refund for your registration fee if you are unable to attend the congress in July. However, we will provide you with a free access code for the EAU20 Resource Centre where you can review all scientific content and the webcasts of all sessions within 24 hours.

I’m unable to attend in July. Is my registration also valid for EAU21?

It is not possible to use your EAU20 registration to attend EAU21.

I’m unable to attend in July. Can I pass on my registration to a colleague?

Yes, it is allowed to transfer your registration to a colleague without any additional costs.

I’m able to attend in July. Do I need to renew my registration?

All registrations will be automatically transferred to the new dates, no action is needed. Also, the e-ticket you received from us will stay valid for the new date, so you can still use this onsite at the self-service area.

Travel

Will the EAU refund charges for re-booking of flights?

Charges for re-bookings of flights to the new dates will not be refunded by the EAU. We advise you to contact your travel agency or airline as soon as possible. Many airlines decided to be very flexible regarding flight changes due to the current situation. You could also check with your insurance company if you can claim the costs for re-booking with them.

Accommodation

Who should I contact to re-book my accommodation?

If you booked your hotel accommodation for EAU20 via the official EAU Housing agency K.I.T. Group you may contact eau2020hotels@kit-group.org

K.I.T. Group is currently setting up a booking platform to book your room online. This will be available via the Congress website shortly.

If you booked your own accommodation, you should directly contact the hotel or travel agency that you used for the booking.

Will the EAU refund accommodation?

Charges for re-booking or cancelling of hotel accommodation will not be refunded by the EAU. We advise you to contact the hotel or booking agency you used, or alternatively your insurance company to check if you can claim the costs for rescheduling or rebooking with them.

Health Situation

Are you sure that the virus will be gone by July?

Of course we cannot predict the situation in July and whether the virus will still pose a serious threat to public health. We are continually monitoring the situation.

If the virus is not gone in July, will EAU20 be postponed or cancelled?

Should the COVID-19 outbreak not improve or in fact get worse by July, EAU20 will be cancelled altogether as a result of Force Majeure. There will not be another attempt to reschedule.
