Learn, lead, compete: EAU25’s exciting educational activities for you
“The future belongs to those who learn more skills and adapt to the changing times.” This Abraham Lincoln quote reflects the growing interest in urological innovations, including artificial intelligence (AI).
Looking for new insights and ideas? Exciting activities await you at the upcoming 40th Annual EAU Congress (EAU25). The European School of Urology (ESU), the Young Urologists Office (YUO), the European Society of Residents in Urology (ESRU), and the Young Academic Urologists (YAU) have organised courses, hands-on trainings (HOTs), fun competitions and more.
HOT commodities
Learn by doing with Hands-on Training (HOT) courses. As always, you will be guided by an expert in a one-on-one format. A few of our new and updated HOTs are highlighted below.
- Hands-on Training in Intermediate Laparoscopic Training (LUSs2)
Using state-of-the-art models, the experts will guide you in performing techniques for major vessel injury repair, pyeloplasty, or partial nephrectomy. This course aims to enhance your skills and dexterity in handling intricate laparoscopic procedures.
- Hands-on Training in Inflatable Penile Prosthesis (IPP)
This course will help you experience, and boost your confidence and competence in performing IPP procedures accurately. Under the step-by-step guidance of experts, you will perform the implantation technique (from initial incision to final implantation) on accurately replicated human anatomy models.
- Hands-on Training in Sacral Neuromodulation (SNM)
Interested in practising the different SNM steps, and/or performing primary percutaneous nerve evaluation, tined lead and battery implantation, programming, and troubleshooting? Then this HOT is for you.
- Hands-on Training in Kidney Transplant (KT)
The gold standard procedure for KT is open KT, which involves several intricate techniques, including vascular anastomoses and graft handling. At the end of this course, you will understand the key principles of open KT; gain proficiency in basic bench surgery techniques for kidney graft handling; learn how to perform end-to-side arterial and vein anastomosis, side-to-side venous and artery anastomosis; vein enlargement, and more.
