From the most controversial and urgent issues in urology to the newest treatment strategies and best clinical practices, experts provide their views and insights in panel debates, case presentations and state-of-the-art lectures and updates.
The core issues and challenges in urology are grouped in various thematic sessions to examine and highlight research updates, the experience of expert centres and the pressing questions that confront urologists in their daily practice.
Insights are shared and the interactive discussions are aimed to deepen urological knowledge in these sessions that present the newest research studies from European and overseas institutions. Abstracts are presented and discussed during Poster and Video sessions and Expert-Guided Poster Tours.
Each of the thirteen Sections that make up the EAU Section Office is organising a special Section Meeting during EAU21. These meetings cover a wide range of topics, such as oncology, reconstruction urology, paediatrics, female urology and neuro-urology, among many others. The Section Meetings create opportunities for urologists to meet and exchange experiences with likeminded colleagues. The sections also run many ambitious projects, organise meetings and educational activities.
These sessions are made available for urology-related groups or societies to host their meetings or present a session on a highly-specialised topic.
EAU Specialty Sessions
Specialty Sessions are hosted by the EAU or its affiliated bodies and focuses on a specific topic or target audience in urology.
Live Surgery Sessions
Well-attended not only by urologists but also by medical professionals working in related fields, the live surgery sessions deliver best practices by some of the world’s uro-surgical experts and also tackle the challenges and practical issues faced by surgeons in actual practice.
ESU Courses and Hands-on Training Courses
From core and basic specialties in urology to more advanced masterclass courses, the European School of Urology (ESU) annually presents a credited curriculum of CME and Hands-on Training (HOT) courses that aim to deepen the skills of young and mid-career urologists.
These industry sessions are plenary presentations of data, research and facts on pharmaceutical and equipment development. The industry workshops are interactive sessions, based on plenary or individual demonstration, explanation or application of equipment/devices.
Industry sessions are not a part of the official EAU21 scientific programme and fall therefore outside the remit of the EAU Scientific Committee.
This year’s two-day International EAUN Meeting, EAUN21, provides a forum for presenting original unpublished data and sharing ideas for urological nursing innovation as well as disseminating (evidence-based) knowledge of primary clinical importance and of particular relevance to the role of the nurse. Visit the EAUN21 meeting site for more information.
Urology Beyond Europe
The EAU has ties with urological societies from around the world. The Urology Beyond Europe sessions bring together experts from these societies and experts who represent the EAU. Together, they address a selection of pressing topics in urology, creating a uniquely international exchange in insights and daily practice.
