During the 40th Annual EAU Congress (EAU25), the “Exhibition booths relating to prescription-only medicines” are only accessible to certified healthcare professionals, qualified to prescribe medicines, and pharmacists. Based on information provided by the registering party, a “P” will be printed on the congress badges when the bearer has accreditation to access the “Exhibition Booths related to prescription-only medicines.” It is the responsibility of the registering party to provide correct information and the EAU holds no responsibility with regards to the information provided. This measure is in accordance with the national and international pharmaceutical guidelines.
About the EAU25 Congress
EAU25 will take place in Madrid, Spain from 21 to 24 March 2025. Similar to the previous Annual EAU Congress, EAU25 will be a four-day event with major elements of the scientific programme, such as the Plenary Sessions and Game Changing Sessions, scheduled in the morning of the first congress day. Please check the preliminary scientific programme and plan your stay in Madrid accordingly.
Abstracts & Videos
Abstract submission for EAU25 closes on 1 November 2024. Selected abstracts will be presented during the (video) abstract sessions in Madrid.
Prizes will be given to the best oncology, best non-oncology abstracts and best video abstracts. Elsevier will publish the accepted abstracts as an official supplement of the European Urology journal at www.sciencedirect.com and www.europeanurology.com.
The abstract bodies of accepted abstracts will be published on the EAU25 Resource Centre, UROsource and in the Congress app a month prior to the congress. These will be accompanied by videos and pre-recorded presentations. EAU members and registered delegates will have access to these abstracts a month prior to the start of the congress.

Patient Abstracts

Access to Session Rooms
Only congress delegates with valid badges will have access to the session rooms. Seating is regulated on a first-come, first-served basis. We recommend delegates to go to the session rooms well in advance.
Due to safety regulations, doors will be closed when all seats are taken. It is not allowed to stand in the aisles of the rooms.
Access to the EAU25 Virtual Platform
The virtual platform opens on the 21 February 2025 at 10:00 CET, and closes on the 25 of March around 16:15 CET (24hrs after last sessions). The Virtual Platform gives access to live streams of all the sessions held in eURO Auditoriums 1 & 2 and some Industry sessions in various rooms as well as On Demand access to recordings of the other sessions (when they become available).
What do I need to attend the virtual congress?
You will need your MyEAU credentials and a valid registration to attend the virtual congress (see “Online Access to EAU25”). When you encounter problems with signing in, you can use the live chat function on this page.
Technical recommendations: A computer/laptop, headset/headphones and a wired internet connection with a 5mb/s connection are recommended.
Internet browser: All browsers are supported with the exception of Internet Explorer. We recommend the latest version of Chrome for the best results.
Processor: There are no restrictions on processing power, if you can access www.eau25.org you’ll be able to access the platform.
Bandwidth: There are no restrictions to access the platform. However, it would be advised to have a 5mb/s connection. Check your connection on: www.speedtest.net
Firewalls: None of the EAU25 content is expected to be blocked by firewalls or needs to be accessed via VPN. However, we cannot control the default restrictions set by your institute or company internet provider, network or state.
Clear your cookies and cache: If you experience any issues accessing the platform, we suggest you clear your cookies and cache.

App: the EAU Association App
The EAU Association App is the easiest way to navigate through congress-related resources and activities. We highly recommend downloading the EAU25 Event within the app as there will be no printed programme book. From 21 February till 7 April 2025, the EAU25 Event will be available in the EAU Association App.
In the app, you can browse the EAU25 scientific programme and create your personal programme using the planner. Find session rooms and exhibitor booths by scrolling through the floor plans. You can save a session or company using the save icon. Saved sessions and companies can be found under “My Programme” and “My Favorites”, respectively. Both can be found in your Profile (accessible from the app’s home page, on the top right). Offline use of the EAU Association App is possible.

Award Gallery
At the EAU Award Gallery (Green Area, Hall 10), you will find a complete overview of all EAU awards handed out during EAU25. It also features information on past winners of the most prestigious EAU prizes. The EAU Award Gallery will showcase the important developments and breakthroughs in recent years.
Badge Tracking System
The QR code found on the delegate badge enables delegates to leave their contact details with exhibitors in a quick and easy way. The QR code will also be scanned at the entrance of the session rooms to gather CME and statistical information. The EAU bears no responsibility for data scanned by third parties.

Badge Classification
Certificate of Attendance
As of Wednesday 26th of March 2025, you can download your certificate of attendance via your MyEAU account. Log in and click on the tile “Certificates”. Before obtaining your certificate, you will be requested to complete the evaluation questionnaire.
On the certificate, you will find the total number of CME credits appointed to the event. You should only claim hours spent in an EAU25 activity (e.g., sessions, courses, etc.). An overview of the viewed sessions can be found in MyEAU under “Attended Meetings”.

Charge and Connect Area
Special “Charge & Connect” areas will be available in the Exhibition Hall (Blue Area, Hall 9) and has seating, free internet, work stations, and power outlets.
Cloakroom and Luggage
You can store your coats and/or luggage in the cloakroom (Blue Area, Level -1) during the congress. Please collect all personal items at the end of each day.
CME Accreditation

IMPORTANT:
CME credits for EAU25 will be awarded not just for sessions viewed live, but also for any sessions viewed via the “On Demand” feature on the virtual platform up to 24 hours after the congress ends (25 March, 16:15 CET). Participants will be logged and checked.

Congress Gift
Entitled delegates can pick up a copy of Human Fertility and Infertility – From prehistory to the present, a new publication by Prof. Philip Van Kerrebroeck, urologist and chair of the EAU History Office, and Dr. Helena Van Kerrebroeck-Gijbels, gynaecologist.
Fertility is essential for procreation and is one of the most important aspects of human life. To have offspring and to sustain humanity is a primary drive in the history of mankind, although it took some time to discover and confirm the relation between sex and conception. This book aims at presenting human fertility and infertility from prehistory to the present, and illustrates the unique aspects of pregnancy, birth and parenthood in the past, but also in the modern world with new forms of maternity and paternity.
The authors, an urologist and a gynaecologist, discuss also how different cultures worldwide dealt with the biological and psychological facts of procreation and illustrate how the arts were inspired by the image of parenthood. Keep a copy in your office, home or waiting room! The book can be collected at the EAU Booth, Blue Area, Hall 9.
Congress Newsletter: European Urology Today Congress Edition
A special Congress edition of European Urology Today will be distributed at various locations at the venue. The newsletters will feature interviews with key speakers, scientific articles, background information on sessions, and other relevant subjects. The newsletter will also be available online and the printed version will be sent to EAU Members.
Currency
The currency in Spain is the Euro (€). One ATM machine can be found outside of the North Entrance, one ATM machine can be found outside of the South Entrance and a third ATM machine can be found on the boulevard / Avenida.
Disclosure Request
At the beginning of their presentation(s), speakers are requested to disclose any affiliations with industries related to the topics of their lecture to the audience. An affiliation can be: being a member of the advisory board or having a consulting agreement with a specific company.

EAU Education Office – European School of Urology (ESU)
The European School of Urology (ESU), working with European faculties, will provide high quality international educational courses in urology during EAU25. All ESU courses require a separate registration.
EAU Research Foundation
The EAU Central Research Office initiates and coordinates, as well as refines investigator initiated and other clinical research projects. It also acts to facilitate clinical research and expand the current network of active research centres and investigators – basic and clinical – both within the EAU member states and its international affiliates. The office coordinates clinical and translational research in close liaison with the EAU Research Foundation. Electricity
Spain, like most other European countries, has 230-volt AC, 50Hz current and uses two-pin continental plugs. Visitors from Switzerland, the UK and Ireland will need a plug adaptor for electric appliances, while those from North America need a power converter to use 110/125V appliances.
Emergency Information and First Aid
There is a First Aid unit at the boulevard / Avenida, on the first floor.
The units are indicated on the directional signs with the first aid symbol .
In case of emergencies inside the congress venue, contact a security guard.
Outside of the IFEMA congress venue, please call the general emergency number 112.
EU-ACME/CNE Desk
Information on the EU-ACME/CNE programme, CME/CNE/CPD credits, membership status & benefits, accredited CME/CNE activities and national CME credits systems can be obtained at the EU-ACME information desk at the EAU Booth (Blue Area, Level 9).
European Association of Urology Nurses
The 25th International EAUN Meeting will be held in Madrid on 22-24 March 2025, in conjunction with EAU25. This unique three-day meeting provides the ultimate opportunity to interact with leading urology nursing and medical professionals and to find inspiration for advanced nursing practice to take forward in your own work environment. The scientific programme will bring together the latest developments in research as well as best practice and current clinical guidelines, through interactive sessions and (state-of-the-art) lectures, providing an opportunity to discuss and share your important clinical experiences and practice.

European Urology, EU Focus, EU Oncology & EU Open Science
European Urology, ‘The Platinum Journal’, is the official journal of the European Association of Urology (EAU). This international peer-reviewed journal devoted to urology is published since 1975 and nowadays reaches over 25,000 readers. The Editor-in-Chief of European Urology is Professor Alberto Briganti. European Urology’s current Impact Factor is 24.344.
European Urology Focus (EU Focus) is a sister journal to European Urology and the second official publication of the European Association of Urology (EAU). EU Focus is published (at least) 6 times per year in an electronic format. Each issue includes a series of invited, thematic reviews, together with original reports, correspondence and introductory editorials on a wide range of urological issues such as oncology, functional urology, reconstructive urology, laparoscopy, robotic surgery, endourology, female urology, andrology, paediatric urology and sexual medicine. EU Focus articles are available on PubMed and has Impact Factor of 5.996. The Editor-in-Chief of EU Focus is Professor Christian Gratzke.
European Urology Oncology (EU Oncology), an additional sister Journal to European Urology, is the first official publication of the EAU fully devoted to the study of genitourinary malignancies. The journal is published six times a year in electronic format. EU Oncology aims to deliver high-quality research while pursuing the goal of a multi-disciplinary approach, with Urology, Medical Oncology, Radiation Therapy, Imaging, Pathology and Basic Research working together with the same final aim: to improve patient care. The Editor-in-Chief of EU Oncology is Professor Morgan Rouprêt. EU Oncology has a current Impact Factor of 8.208.
European Urology Open Science is the Open Access journal of the European Urology family. It is dedicated to the publication of high quality, innovative research that will benefit patients with urological conditions, in keeping with the mission of the European Urology family. EU Open Science covers all kinds of research in the urological field, including clinical, basic and translational research. The journal reflects the evolving publishing model so all published papers will have unrestricted access and be published online-only. Professor Jochen Walz is Editor-in-Chief of European Urology Open Science. European Urology Open Science has a current Impact Factor of 3.000.

Exhibition Guide
The Exhibition Guide, including an exhibition floor plan and an overview of all exhibitors with company profiles, will be placed on the Congress Website and in the Congress App.
Food & Beverage
Catering is available for purchase at several catering points throughout the congress venue.
Guests & Children
In compliance with the Pharma Codes, the EAU is not allowed to register guests (including children) and they can therefore not attend the congress. The EAU office cannot offer any children’s daycare facilities either. If parents decide to leave their children in a part of the venue that is accessible without a badge, the EAU will bear no responsibility in case of incidents. If you have any special requirements due to impaired mobility, medical needs or due to the fact you are nursing please let the organisation know in advance.
Guidelines
EAU members can collect the EAU Pocket Guidelines 2025, free of charge, at the EAU Booth. The Pocket Guidelines may also be purchased by non-EAU members at the EAU Booth.
De Historia Urologiae Europaeae
EAU Members with the correct entitlements can collect a free copy of the EAU History Office’s De Historia Urologiae Europaeae at the EAU booth in the Exhibition Hall. This year’s edition is Volume 32 but earlier volumes are available upon request.
Historical Exhibition
The EAU History Office is presenting a historical exhibit with rare antique instruments and other artefacts around the topic of “Spanish Contributions to Urology”. You will find the Historical Exhibition as part of the EAU Booth at the Exhibition Hall (Blue Area, Level 9).
History of the Annual EAU Congress
The EAU Congress history website can be viewed at www.eaucongresshistory.org. All EAU Congresses, going back to the very first in 1974, are included in the interactive overview.
Hotel Accommodation
The company K.I.T. Group has been contracted to handle the hotel accommodation for congress participants. Their staff will be available at the Hotel Desk in the Registration Area (Blue Area, Level 9). More information here.
Insurance
The organisers do not accept liability for any personal damage. Participants are advised to arrange their own personal insurance.

Language
The congress sessions will be conducted in English. No translation will be provided.
Live Surgery Policy
The EAU’s official policy on Live Surgery Events offers organisers a clear framework within which to plan and perform live surgeries. The main principle for these guidelines is that patient safety must take priority over all other considerations during live surgery. Read more >

For assistance, report any lost or found items to the EAU Information Desk in the registration area (Blue Area, Hall 9).
Media Policy
Registered press representatives may attend all scientific sessions. Photographing during sessions is allowed for personal and non-commercial use only, i.e. photos cannot be published or reproduced in any way. Outside of the scientific sessions, you need written permission by the EAU for photography, filming and interviews at any location within the congress venue. Video recording of the congress or during the sessions is subject to authorisation by the EAU Press Office. A written request must be submitted prior to the congress via press@uroweb.org or can be submitted on-site at the EAU Press Centre (Green Area). Requests will be approved on a case-by-case basis. Film crews can book a time slot (max 2 per day per publication) to film in one of the filming areas onsite via the hostess in the EAU Press Centre. Film crews will receive a special filming press badge, available at the EAU Press Centre.

Networking
With other delegates
You can use the EAU Association App (see “App”) to get in touch with other delegates or congress participants. First install the EAU25 Event when it becomes available. The networking feature is off by default, you can turn it on by logging in to the app with your MyEAU credentials through the “My Profile” menu in the top right corner.
For more information on the networking opportunities go to “Networking” under “App Help”, which you will find under “More” in the app menu.
With speakers
Delegates can also get in touch with EAU25 faculty and speakers on the EAU25 Event app. In the Programme tab you will find “Speakers”, where you will see a speaker overview. Click on “Conversation” to leave them a message. You can also send them a request to meet by clicking on “Meeting”.
On Demand Webcasts
Presentations, sessions and ESU courses will be webcasted under the condition that the speakers have given their approval.
Online Access to EAU25
There is an Online Only registration option for EAU25 if you should not be able to travel to Madrid. An Online-Only registration entitles you to live access of the most important session rooms and on-demand access of other sessions once they become available. More information here.
Opening Ceremony and Awards
Participants and exhibitors attending the congress are invited to the official Opening Ceremony on Friday, 21 March 2025 at 18.00-19.30 in eURO Auditorium 1 (Green Area, Hall 10). During the Opening Ceremony the new Honorary EAU Members will be announced and EAU Awards will be handed out. The Opening Ceremony will be followed by a Networking Reception until 20:30 hrs.

Photography & Filming

Power Outlets
In addition to the dedicated Charge & Connect areas in the Exhibition, you can find several power outlets and seats with USB ports in the Atrium.
Prayer Room
A room of silence is available in the Orange Area, level 7.2, which is open during congress hours.
Presentation Training Centre
Mrs. Vivienne Parry (GB) will give Individual & Group Presentation Skills Training Sessions to help improve presentation and delivery skills. The one-on-one 15-minute sessions and 30-minute group sessions (max. 6 persons) are free of charge and available to all speakers.
Appointments for this very popular training session should be made by sending an email to Ms. Hanna Kiss with your preferred timing or by signing up at the Speaker Service Centre (Green Area, Hall 10).
Press Centre
Journalists and medical/science writers can obtain a free registration to the congress. Registered press members are welcome to use the facilities at the EAU Press Centre (Green Area) where they will also obtain a special press pack. Internet access, printer and photocopy facilities are provided.

Resource Centre
As a congress delegate, you can access the EAU25 scientific content as it becomes available in the EAU25 Resource Centre using your MyEAU credentials. EAU Members and congress delegates have early access to read the abstracts 1 month in advance. The content in the Resource Centre is accredited for congress delegates until 24 hours after the last session of the congress (Tuesday 25 March around 16:15 CEST). The content in the Resource Centre will be available up to 1 year after the congress but is not accredited after Tuesday 25th of March.
At the congress, we also offer 6 computer stations in the Expert-Guided Poster Tour area (Purple Area, Hall 7) for delegates to browse the EAU25 Resource Centre.
Security and Safety
IFEMA and the EAU have taken security precautions to ensure the maximum possible safety for all participants. Bags may be subject to inspection. Do not leave bags unattended at any time.
Smoking Policy
Smoking (also of e-cigarettes) is not allowed inside the congress venue and in the exhibition hall. Smoking is only allowed outside, ashtrays are available outside in the main street / Avenida.
Social Media
We are using social media during the congress to encourage open discussions on urology science and your experiences. EAU congress faculty, opinion leaders, speakers, delegates and media share their ideas, commentary and photos on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. You can follow the EAU on Facebook, LinkedIn, X and Instagram. We invite you to use the hashtag #EAU25, follow us on all social media accounts and join the conversation!
Speaker Service Centre
If you are presenting at EAU25, this is where you can upload or review your slides and receive technical instructions about your presentation. The Speaker Service Centre is located in the Green Area, Hall 10. Presentations have to be uploaded 3 hours prior to the start of a session. See Opening Hours for the specific opening hours of the Speaker Service Centre.
Taxi
There are a lot of taxis in Madrid and at every major train station, there are taxi stands. The IFEMA has taxi ranks laid out to facilitate the arrival and departure of visitors. See Travel Information for more details.
Time Zone
All communicated times in the scientific programme are Central European Time (CET), the time zone in most of Europe at the time of EAU25.
Transportation Pass

Upcoming Meetings
If you have information or promotional materials to share on upcoming meetings, you can display these materials in the provided racks in the Charge & Connect Areas (Exhibition Hall, Blue Area, Hall 9). It is strictly forbidden to put up promotional material at any other location in the congress venue.
